1. INTRODUCTION

As part of its activities, the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) has initiated the EnGrais project, managed by IFDC-GHANA. The project is implemented in the West African region and two Sahel countries (Mauritania and Chad). The main objective of the project is to increase production and food security by sustainably improving the availability of quality fertilizers, appropriate and affordable use by farmers, with a focus on women and youth. The West Africa Fertilizer and Seed Recommendations Map (FeSeRWAM) was developed to facilitate access to agricultural technology knowledge, contributing to yield increases and agricultural extension efforts.

To achieve the project's goals, particularly the FeSeRWAM map, IFDC-GHANA collects and processes your personal data in accordance with the legal framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This document is provided for informational purposes and is intended to explain IFDC-GHANA's principles and commitments regarding the protection of personal data. Specifically, it aims to inform you about:

3. DEFINITIONS

  1. Privacy Policy and Personal Data Protection Policy or Policy: Refers to this Policy describing the measures taken for the processing, management, and rights associated with your personal data.

4. DATA CONTROLLER

In accordance with the GDPR, the International Fertilizer Development Center-GHANA (hereinafter referred to as "IFDC-GHANA"), located at 113A Mbabane Ave, Accra, Ghana, and represented by Dr. Youl SANSAN, EnGrais Project Manager, is designated as the Data Controller.

5. COLLECTION AND USE OF DATA

The Organization may use personal data for the following purposes: to provide and maintain our service, including monitoring the use of our service. The personal data you provide may give you access to different features of the service available to you as a registered user. IFDC-GHANA may combine the information we collect from you or other sources and use the combined information as described in this policy.

For the following purposes, the legal basis for processing the user's personal data will be consent. By using IFDC's services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and consent to our collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal data as described in this Privacy Policy.

    Some services may be used by minors. In such cases, minors under the age of 16 must obtain the consent of their parents or legal representatives.

6.1. Privacy by Design

IFDC and IFDC-GHANA’s digital services incorporate data protection by design at the project's outset. IFDC-GHANA is committed to considering the protection of your personal data and privacy from the design stage of services offered, thereby minimizing the risks of non-compliance with personal data processing. Thus, appropriate technical and organizational measures are taken concerning the purpose sought by IFDC-GHANA in the intended processing. This principle's application allows the implementation of preventive measures to limit the risks to personal data.

6.2. Privacy by Default

IFDC and IFDC-GHANA's digital services ensure, by default, the highest level of personal data protection. IFDC-GHANA implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that, by default, only personal data necessary for the pursued purpose are processed.
